Where: Quail Hollow Club

Who: The First Tee of Greater Charlotte participants (all levels; between the ages of 9-12) are welcome to attend! Space is limited to the first 45 people to register via the button below

Note:  Participants must have an adult chaperone attend with them.  If two or more participants are attending from the same family, only chaperone may attend.

What:  Walk alongside and interact with PGA Tour players as they play a practice round followed by an exclusive time of Q&A, photo, and autograph opportunities. All participants will receive a gift pack and a chance to win prizes during the event! Don’t miss this once in a lifetime opportunity! All participants/parents/guardians will ride to the event together in the same bus from the Carowinds parking lot. You will meet Brittnay Cross in the Carowinds parking lot under the blue TFTGC tent.

Participants should plan to wear a TFTGC golf shirt and hat to the event (if they have one).

Succeeding Together

OPPORTUNITY FULL

When:  Wednesday, May 1, 2019 (2:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.)

Where: Quail Hollow Club

Who:  The First Tee of Greater Charlotte participants (all levels; ages 5 & up) and one chaperone are invited to attend.

Note:  Participants must have an adult chaperone attend with them.  If two or more participants are attending from the same family, only chaperone may attend.

What:  All participants are invited to attend a golf clinic on the driving range at Quail Hollow Club featuring PGA Tour Players. Transportation for The First Tee participants and one chaperone will be provided to and from the golf course.  Buses will depart from The First Tee of Greater Charlotte Learning Center at 2:30pm or from Forest Hills Church (7224 Park Rd, Charlotte, NC 28210) at 3:00pm.  You will be prompted to select which bus you will take on the sign-up form below.  Please note that there will only be two buses at each location therefore once a location is full, you will be assigned to the remaining location.  Both buses will depart Quail Hollow Club at 5:45pm following the clinic and return to their respective lots.  The actual clinic takes place from 4pm-5:15pm.  Anyone who elects to meet us there must inform us in advance of their anticipated attendance. 

Participants should plan to wear a TFTGC golf shirt and hat to the event (if they have one).

CADDIE DAY

When:  Wednesday, May 1, 2019  (9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.)

  • 9:30-10am:          Participants meet at TFTGC Learning Center (2661 Barringer Drive)
  • 10:00am:              Breakfast provided (If you have not arrived before breakfast at 10am, you                       will not be able to attend!!)
  • 10:30am :             Depart for Quail Hollow Club
  • 11am-3pm :          Caddie Day event and lunch
  • 3:30pm:                Participants walk to Driving Range.
  • 4:00pm:                Succeeding Together Event on Driving Range
  • 5:45pm:                Depart QHC for TFTGC Learning Center
  • 6:00pm:                Parent/Guardian to pick-up participants at TFTGC Learning Center

 

Where: Quail Hollow Club

Who:  Par, Birdie, Eagle or Ace participants ages 11 and older

Note:  Participants must have been active in either Fall 2018 or Spring 2019 programs to participate.

What:  Par, Birdie, Eagle, and/or Ace participants ages 11 and older are invited to Caddie inside the ropes during Wednesday’s Pro-Am at The Wells Fargo Championship.  Participants will be located at Holes No. 2 and No. 17.  The participants will await the arrival of the PGA TOUR players as each group makes their way to tee box. Participants will then relieve the Tour player’s caddie and will take over caddying responsibilities for that hole and walk along-side the player and his group.  In prior years, the event has been great fun and a wonderful learning opportunity – some participants event got the chance to putt or select clubs for the players!

Following their time caddying, participants will be treated to a late lunch overlooking the 18th green.  After lunch, the group will make it’s way to the driving range to participate in the Succeeding Together Clinic with PGA Tour Players (timeline outlined above).

The First Tee of Greater Charlotte asks that you send your child in a nice pair of khaki shorts or pants.  A golf shirt and hat will be provided upon arrival at The First Tee of Greater Charlotte.  The logistics of this day will be very stringent so please make note of the schedule listed above.

This opportunity will be limited to Par, Birdie, Eagle and/or Ace participants ages 11 and older.  Participants must have been ACTIVE in Fall 2018 or are ACTIVE in Spring 2019 programs.  Space is limited to the first 45 participants who turn in their paperwork.

KidS Village (VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY)

When:  Wednesday, May 1-Sunday, May 5, 2019 (Wednesday 10am – 4 pm) (Thursday – Sunday 10am – 5pm)

Where:  The Community Courtyard (located between hole #9 and hole #10 at Quail Hollow Club)

Who:  Volunteers (youth volunteers must be 14 and older and accompanied by a parent volunteer)

The First Tee of Greater Charlotte along with Teach for America and Levine Children’s Hospital will have the opportunity to engage and educate tournament patrons in The Kids Village.  Each organization will have a space within the Courtyard to promote and educate patrons through an interactive booth.  The First Tee of Greater Charlotte will have a pitching and putting station set up using SNAG equipment as well as an informative table.  Volunteers are needed to help run the golf station as well as give out information and answer questions on the program.

Volunteers will be prompted to sign up for half-day shifts (AM: 9am-2pm or PM: 1pm-6pm).  Volunteers will be given a tournament e-ticket for the entire day so they can enjoy the tournament either before or after their designated shift.  Volunteers are able to sign up for multiple shifts.  If you sign up for a shift via the form below, you are considered committed.  Please do not sign up if you do not intend to volunteer.

Volunteers will be required to pick up their volunteer golf shirt from The First Tee of Greater Charlotte Learning Center (2661 Barringer Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208) during the week of April 22-26 (9am-5pm).  You will receive information on how to set up your eticket for the tournament. Tickets and golf shirts are mandatory for volunteer participation.
